Many parts make up one human body, but each has a different task. Even though the parts are different, they all work together to keep the body functioning properly.
The body of Christ functions the same way. Each part (child of God) has a different task (talent), and they all work together to function the body. Romans 12:3-8 talks about not thinking of oneself more highly than he ought to think, and it also talks about the body having many different members. If the human body was just made of eyes or hands, then how would it function? It couldn’t. Same applies for the body of Christ. Christ is the head, and the church makes up the rest. If the body has all the same parts, or talents, then how would it function? It couldn’t.
If you are talented in music but your brother or sister in Christ isn’t, don’t down them about it. Encourage them to live out their own talent for the glory of God. If you are very knowledgeable in knowing a lot about the Bible but your brother or sister in Christ isn’t, help them learn more about God’s Word. Don’t down them or tell them that they are on their own on that one. Get my point? Not everyone is the same, so that means not everyone has the same talent. But, each talent benefits from the other. Same goes with the human body. The hand needs the eye so it knows what it is touching. The lungs need the red blood cells for oxygen, or the body would suffocate. Let’s work together in the body of Christ and benefit in each other’s own talent.
