Here lately there has been more and more disrespect in this country. Even from our own president.
You hear about people stomping on the American flag, people shooting at cops, people being punished for doing the right thing. Wait, what? People being punished for doing what’s right? Yes. It’s politically incorrect these days to do the right thing. Then there is our president, supporting a nation that wants to destroy Israel (God’s people) and the U.S.! In my opinion, the nuclear deal is the stupidest thing a leader could agree on.
I see parents cussing their kids out at stores, and I hear kids doing the same thing to their parents. This nation is full of attitude, full of hate, full of disrespect. What happened to love, correction, and respect? My brother and I have been taught to respect. We say our “please” and “thank-you’s”, our “yes ma’am’s and no sir’s”. We fear our parents because we know if we do wrong we will be corrected and punished for it. That’s not how this world is today. Parents let their kids do what they want because they don’t want to have to deal with their kids crying when they get punished. That’s what is wrong with the 2015 kids. That’s why you have kids on the streets doing drugs and shooting up places. It all falls back on the parents. If they don’t punish their kids when they do wrong, if they don’t love on their kids, then their kids will go out and be trouble makers. It’s a fact, not an opinion. I’m not saying I haven’t disrespected or disobeyed my parents and God, because I have, but I learn from each experience.
In Exodus 20:12, it says to “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” Yes, this commandment is one of the Ten Commandments. Yes, it is from the Mosaic Law, but we can still apply it to our lives today. God didn’t suggest it, He COMMANDED it. 1 Peter 2:17 couldn’t say it any clearer, “Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.” I’ll just say this, we all have work to do. Let’s have respect and honor for our loved ones. Men, don’t treat a woman wrong. Women, respect your husband. It’s Biblical. Kids, let’s respect our elders and those in authority. It’s Biblical.
